Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Reports Strongest Winter Season on Record

(Teton Village, WY, April 10, 2018) – Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is pleased to report a strong 2017/2018 winter season.  The resort’s 634,500 skier visits marks the highest in Resort history, surpassing the previous record set in 2013/2014.  The 2017/2018 season finished with 502 inches of total snow, making for an above average year in terms of snowfall and snow depths on the upper mountain.

The success of the season is attributed to many factors including Jackson Hole’s snow conditions, especially when compared to snow levels throughout Colorado, Utah and California, increased air service and JHMR’s strong guest service initiatives.   “This was a memorable year for JHMR, and I am pleased with the ski product and level of service our staff was able to provide consistently throughout the season.  We saw a great volume of visitors from around the world, and we were able to spread that business out throughout the season.  We had a record season by over 10%, but not one day that was our busiest day ever,” Jerry Blann, JHMR President commented.  “To achieve our best skier day target ever is a testament to our staff and years of hard work and planning.  The Kemmerer family vision for the ski area is starting to mature, and I am pleased to be ending my career at JHMR on this high note,” Blann went on to add.

Looking ahead to next season, with Blann stepping down, Mary Kate Buckley will take the helm of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort starting June 1, 2018.  Coming next winter the new Solitude Station, located at the Sweetwater Gondola mid-station will open, creating a new ski learning center.  Nick Wilson’s is also getting upgraded as new base area fast casual dining concept that will debut for the Winter 2018/2019 season.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open the Aerial Tram for the summer season on Saturday, May 19th.  The Jackson Hole Mountain Bike Park and Grand Adventure Park open for the season on June 9th. And also starting on June 9th the Bridger Gondola will be operating throughout the day for site seeing, hiking and dining options at Off Piste Market.  On June 15th evening hours on the Bridger Gondola start with dining at Piste Mountain Bistro and The Deck.  The newest high alpine adventure at JHMR, the Via Ferrata, will be opening in mid-June.
